Scholarships

Sometimes life will throw you into situations beyond your control. All of a sudden, affording your continued education is in jeopardy. Kappa doesn’t believe these circumstances should prevent anyone from obtaining a degree, which is why the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation offers more than 150 scholarships that provide financial assistance to our initiated members.

GK’s are eligible for scholarships through the KKG Foundation, as well as for the Gamma Kappa Sapphire Scholarship and the Sally Ives Gore Scholarship, both specific to William and Mary.

In October 2001, Gamma Kappa alumnae and the KKG Foundation launched a campaign to raise $100,000 to establish the Gamma Kappa Sapphire Scholarship. The Scholarship, which is a restricted fund under the auspices of the Foundation, is awarded to two deserving undergraduate or graduate Gamma Kappa members.  Since 2001, Gamma Kappa alumnae and the Gamma Kappa Chapter have donated $136,000 to the Scholarship fund. To date, twenty women have received the $3,000 scholarship. In 2012, the Foundation approved our request to rename one of the two Gamma Kappa Sapphire Scholarships in honor of Sally Ives Gore, Gamma Kappa, ’56.  Sally was an initial supporter of the Scholarship and in 2012 funded a major renovation of the Gamma Kappa house.
